[size:14pt][font:Book Antiqua]Hi Everyone!

I just wanted you all to know that I am the guest host on this week's iTricks Podcast Magic Week in Review (November 9, 2008 edition). MWiR is a weekly magic podc[size:14pt]ast from the iTricks.com team (Andrew Mayne and Justin Robert Young). Along with Meir Yedid's MagicTimes, iTricks/MWiR is a great way to get up to the minute news on the Magic Industry.

The highlights of the topics discussed are:

The rivalry between Keith Barry and Criss Angel has reignited

Vegas ticket sales - Criss Angels Believe vs. Penn & Teller

Open Wand night at the Cellar Door in London

Daniel Garcia as a birthday present

Eric DeCamps PURE MAGIC re-opens for the holiday season at the Metropolitan Room in NYC

Tribute to Herb Zarrow at Metro-Magic Convention and the launching of his book, Zarrow a Lifetime of Magic

Kostya Kimlet interview on YouTube

Dimmare pulls no punches

President Elect Barak Obama and the politically motivated magic clip (a good way of melding magic and a political campaign)

You can either listen to the stream version or subscribe (its free) via iTunes. The latest edition of MWiR will be ready for download or listening on Monday November 10 at iTricks.com or from the iTunes store.

Best,

Eric DeCamps

There was a glitch on the site that prevented the download of the episode from iTunes. It's been fixed and can be downloaded now. Here's the link: MWiR - Nov.9, 2008

Thanks to those who contacted me and made me aware of the issue.

Best,

I'm glad you enjoyed the episode!

I would write more but I do have to get back to the Seven Timers Club. It's truly the ONLY place to be!

Best,

(NOTE FOR CONTEXT: The post to which this one was a reply has been deleted.)

Funny! Guess again -- I was the *other* (or perhaps *the original*) political video this year -- rooting for the other team, as it happens.

I have refrained from sharing this here due to the political content of the ad. But setting the politics aside, it is certainly interesting that my little video was seen on Good Morning America, Nightline, and was featured prominently on the national McCain-Palin campaign web site. Furthermore, it was referenced and quoted in newspaper articles and on blogs across America (including being the first political magic video posted on iTricks.com). It was also recently added to the "Living Room Candidate" political advertisement collection at the Museum of the Moving Image in NYC as their selected example of the new impact of video-blogging and self-reporting on election advertising. This collection includes political television ads going back to Eisenhower.

Details and links here: http://turnermagic.wordpress.com

Regardless of anyones political leanings, I think it is interesting and exciting to note that a magic performance (and a close-up trick, at that) was featured in so many places in the coverage of this recent US election.
