The Betting Line

Postby Geno Munari » November 2nd, 2008, 6:14 pm

The official betting line from Las Vegas is:

Obama -8
McCain +6

Meaning if you want Obama you lay 8 to win 1.

If you want McCain you bet 1 and win 6.

This is not a political message but interesting about the way the odds are made.

According to the polls Obama is way ahead. I would have made the price more than 8/1 for Obama, and higher for McCain to encourage more two way wagering.

This is strictly a non-political post. Just gambling foder for those interested.

Anyone else have a local betting line? If so please post it.

"If Sen. John McCain wins the presidential election, an Irish bookie will be smacking himself in the face.

Shortly following the final presidential debate, Paddy Power, Ireland's largest bookmaker, declared Sen. Barack Obama the victor and paid out accordingly, turning over more than $1,360,000 to Obama backers."
