Hanging out in Bristol, VA/TN

Where local magicians eat, meet, and greet.

Postby Guest » 05/08/05 11:16 AM

There's a relatively new magic shop in Bristol, TN (Top Hat Magic Supply) that a lot of the professional and amateur magicians like to hang out at. This is also the place where IBM Ring 355 meets every month, so it's a pretty happening place, magically speaking.

As an aside, in addition to be a local hangout, Top Hat Magic Supply also sponsors a magic convention held in Bristol, VA (The Twin City Magic Convention).

More info can be found at: www.twincityconvetion.com

Should be a good one. See ya in June!

Hi Bob,

Hmmmmmmm...they could have been
updating the site at the time or
any other number of things. The
internet is a crazy thing.

Try it again: www.twincityconvention.com

Or:

Jeff,

It must have been magic. It worked the next time. Are ya'll going to have to have room for some Alabama magicians there this time? Possum magic just isn't welcome everywhere!

Jeff,

Thanks for the post here and the email. I'll have to program my magic carpet for the ride. It looks good!

I'll phone you.

Man, I'm looking forward to it. I just hope I'm not too stressed by convention day to enjoy the shows.

All the guys here in Bristol are getting pumped up about the convention and the shows. Looks like it'll be even better than last year. With 10 days to go, I just realized I've not mentioned who the dealers were either here or on the website...yikes! Here are folks setting up in the dealers room:

Top Hat Magic Supply (Dave Vaught & Jeff Wampler)

Magic Central (Ricky Boone)

Chalet Magic (George Kimery)

Bob Sanders

Michael P Lair

Dan Garrett

Darwin Ortiz

Ray Sigmon - gaffed coins and stuff

For those of you that can't make it to the convention, remember there is a public show June 25 at 7:30 PM in Bristol, TN...PM or e-mail me for more information regarding tickets. BTW, tickets are included with registration.

10 days away...See ya in Bristol!

I* may come over and help Bob Sanders at his booth but I wont know until after the weekend if I can make it. There's a lot on my agenda right now with us trying to relocate to south Georgia to be near my antique mother in case she needs me. I hope it works out that I can make it over.

Jeff--Best of luck with everything in Bristol this weekend. Sounds like an excellent lineup.
If any of your attendees are traveling home through Wytheville, VA on Sunday, June 26th, I invite them to stop by the Chautauqua Festival. I am performing {roving)in the park. Wytheville is about an hour from Bristol where I-77 and I-81 intersect. I will be working from 1 pm until 8 pm.
Have a great weekend!

Folks,

If you missed it you missed a good one.

Great facilities, good shows, interesting lectures, and nice folks. It gave me time with old friends and opportunities to meet new ones.

Thanks Jeff! Do it again next year.
