Hot DAMN!

Has anybody seen the clips Whit has on his site?

www.whithaydn.com

I am not sure how much of what is on here is published in other places...books, dvds, etc.

These are really wonderful! Watching him work is such a great education. His timing is superb!

If you like that material, you should join the Scoundrels Forum. It's chock full of delightful knowledge from a group of truly wonderful scoundrels.

Mr Hadyn might have when he gets the bill for bandwidth!

I am on a huge pipe and don't mind either, I wasn't being rude, just pointing out they are massive, massive files that have either been compressed badly or not compressed at all.

Just trying to help, not be rude!

Sorry. I am not very knowledgeable about compression for Real Player and Quicktime files.

I am learning. Eventually we will get all the files optimized. There are more than sixty files in the Scoundrels Photos video section. It will take some time.

We have been going through a lot recently, including our move to a virtual dedicated server.

Putting up a forum, trading post, wiki site, photo gallery, blog and so forth is a huge undertaking, and it isn't really easy--I am an old guy to be learning so many new programs and procedures.

I use Premiere Pro for encoding. Perhaps someone can suggest some appropriate settings for Quicktime and RealPlayer files, and for .wmv as well.

Please be patient, and thanks for any and all suggestions, tips, and help.

Hi Whit,

A couple of years ago I threw together a quick tutorial on optimising videos for the web. It's a bit vanilla, but the important bits are there.

You can wade through it at www.virtualmagicshow.com/webvid

Take care, Ian
