Top Secret on BBC

Discussions of new films, books, television shows, and media indirectly related to magic and magicians. For example, there may be a book on mnemonics or theatrical technique we should know or at least know about.

Any of our pals across the pond see a special called Top Secret on the BBC? This was filmed in Vegas during the Magic Live convention and I was lucky enough to be in the audience during 2 shows. (Mac King at Harrah's, Mcbride at his studio.) From the sounds of it, it was going to be a great show. It was supposed to air in October. Anyone see it?

You might want to run a search through the BBC website (which is _huge_ and great).

Something might turn up: www.bbc.co.uk

Jacky -- the "Magic" series is a 6-parter dealing with the history of magic. The episode dealing with levitations, airing Saturday in its regular time slot, is episode 2.

I've seen nothing yet for "Top Secret." Just got my Sky satellite installed -- oh boy oh boy oh boy.

Also just came back from McMillan's International Magic where I learned to my dismay that they and Davenport's are completely out of flash paper!! There goes my performances of Sankey's "In A Flash," one of the tricks in my repertoire. (Can't take flash paper on a plane or ship it in baggage.)

Matthew, I'm in London too.

And a few months ago, someone at my magic club mentioned to me that he'd bought a stock of flash paper ages ago, he doesn't use it, and he asked whether I wanted it (at a reduced price).

If you'd be interested, let me know.

(Failing that, I'm sure that Google can locate some flash paper in the UK.)

I just heard from Dick Koornwinder that the first episode aired last Saturday (October 16) on the BBC. It was all about mentalism. Haven't seen it, but I'm certainly tuning in this Saturday.

Thasnmks to all who contacted me about flash paper. I should have thought about JB Magic myself, having purchased from Mark in the past. I even know what the "JB" stands for.
