A place where beginners can participate, ask questions, and post their views. However, beginners typically ask a lot of questions about sources, tricks, books, and so on. In fact, all magicians are interested (or should be) in the provenance of tricks, ideas, and related matters. This department will service these needs.

I think fit is more important that the thickness. I'm not a coin guy but I've seen Roths boxes and thought they were well made. Sounds like you think you got something else though...that I can't answer.
I talked to David, and he told me that he never sold his sets to any magic store in Arkansas. In fact, he only sells a few at a time to a handful of dealers, so it is unlikely that they have resold to another store. His boxes are of excellent quality, and a very good weight, but of course I have no idea if you have the same ones. I suggest you find out where the store obtained the set, and I'll get word to David to see if he thinks they are legit.
