I am a professional communicator with approximately 25 years experience in writing, editing, and producing material for a variety of contexts. These include

newspaper & magazine journalism,
academic & scholarly publications,
technical & instructional manuals,
advertising & promotional copy,
film & television scripts,
political speeches,
stand-up comedy,
greeting cards,
comic books,
short fiction,
poetry,
and more.

I have also worked in all aspects of print and multimedia production, ranging from copywriting and editing to layout and design, including photography and use of a variety of desktop publishing software packages. I am also a software developer specializing in web application development and am currently employed as the senior usability specialist for a website belonging to a top Fortune 500 company.

Perhaps more importantly, I have been studying magic for 30 years, performing publicly as an amateur for 15 years, and working part-time in the art since the summer of 2004.

I would like to offer my services to the magic community as a writer, ghostwriter, copy editor, and/or publications designer, including website design consulting.

You will find my rates to be reasonable, competitive, and negotiable. While I am "doing this for the money" to a certain extent, I am doing it moreso out of a love for the art, a continuing thirst for knowledge, and the desire to become more a part of the global community of magicians and creators of magic to whom I owe such a debt of gratitude for the enjoyment the art has given me in my life.

Plus, I actually find doing this kind of work to be an awful lot of fun.

For additional information, a detailed c.v., samples of my work, etc., contact me via email at jdskrip@sasktel.net or by phone at (306) 652-4846.
