the uncanny scot

Instead of mentally projecting your mentalism thoughts, type them here.

Does anyone know where to get a copy of this book. I know it is out of print, maybe some is wanting to sell it. Thanks.

It's still listed as in stock at Magic Books By Post (the author is Richard Kaufman).

There are only 2 routines in the book which could be said to be true mentalism, but one of them, 'Confabulous' is worth the price of the book. It is my method of choice for a Confabulation type routine.

It's a great book--the real "sleeper" of all the books I've written.

Any chance of a reprint of that book Richard? It seems very tough to get my hands on!

I second that. Ron's material is THE REAL WORK.

There doesn't seem to be enough demand at the moment to reprint.

I really regret that no one made a videotape of Ron when he was in his prime--he was astoundingly good. A near perfect close-up magician: charming, funny, technically perfect. Just wonderful. I hope the book captures some of that, but to see him ditch the dye tube in the color changing silk routine was just magical, and his handling of the torn and restored newspaper was the most magical of any I've ever seen, bar none. The tears appear to heal before your eyes!

I've been trying for two years to buy a copy! Every time I think I've found one, someone else has already bought it!

Ah, Richard, I thought for sure you had video of Ron for the book. Even something like the Hamman videos would be fine. I've known Ron for years on a professional basis through the Castle and ironically, have never seen him perform. This book is a real wealth of close-up material.

Denny of Baltimore just advertised one copy for sale on his e-mail news. Perhaps it hasn't sold yet...
