I don't know if it is the right name for this effect.
But..
does anyone know who invented this effect, in which someone thinks a number of three digits, and this same number appears on the arm of the performer?
I saw Mr Blaine perform it, but i think it has a more distant origin.
Do you think it is a good effect..
and most importantly, do you know books or dvd sources, where i can learn it?
The best sources.
Waiting for an answer of yours..
Best Regards.

The originator is unknown, but we do know it's pretty old. We're talking 1500's old. See Prevost's Clever and Pleasant Inventions.

Prevost says pee should be used. So, if you're shooting for historical accuracy, mystery and wonder is only a six-pack away. Of course, this ain't for everyone (sorry asparagus lovers).

Hi. I was searching and I found that the inventor of the "Ashes on arm" trick is John White (1718).

Originally, it was just used to write in the snow and by old-time sailors to treat athlete's foot....hehe

Crim: Here is a list of books where you might find the trick:

(I hope that works; if not, I hope Jackie can come on and give you another link.)

So the guy that devised the trick was the one who put the WIZ in wizard. :p
