JULY Genii Mailed--Get Sleeved!

Discuss general aspects of Genii.

Postby Richard Kaufman » 06/14/07 08:37 AM

The July issue of Genii went in the mail earlier this week. We are slowly updating the addresses of all subscribers in the US to zip + 4 for better delivery (if you want to help in that effort, send your zip + 4 address by e-mail to genii@geniimagazine.com along with your name, etc.)

The July issue of Genii, with FISM Grand Prix winner Rick Merrill on the cover, FISM Originality Award Winner Rocco on the wrap, and a free DVD with lots of Rocco on it, is coming your way. Four new tricks from Rick Merrill, a full Magicana, and lots more.

Let me know when you receive it and what you think.

Mine says July, and I got it today in Virginia Beach, Va. At this rate, my August issue should be here day after tomorrow.

Richard,

Is Bob Farmer's take on ACAAN in the July Magicana?

If not, when do you think you will treat us to it?

Thanks

pierredan: I suggest you ask Mr. Farmer about that. It's not in the August issue.

Regarding Pete's remark: he's very happy because HE is on the cover of the August issue!

Does not "look like" another great issue... IT IS a great issue.

Being a lifelong fan of Rocco, it was great to read the interview.
Stay tooned.

This is a particular note to all of you who are on the postal watch list for delivery: if you called the office because you received your May and/or June issues unusually late, then PLEASE let us know when you receive your July issue. That's the only way we know if the Post Office is doing something about it!

Arrived in North Dakota today (16 July). I enjoyed the new column by Luke Jermay. The book review of "Cardini: The Suave Deceiver" is fantastic. I literally had to read Jamy Ian Swiss' review from start to finish the minute I picked up the new copy of Genii. Eugene Burger interviewing Mark Wilson was also a great read.

I also have a copy sent to my house via the same second class periodical rate as all of you, just so I can check delivery. It arrived today, June 18, which is 9 or 10 days from the day it was mailed.
Still looking to hear from more of you about when your July issue shows up and what you think.

Has anyone watched the DVD yet? Some of the Rocco performances on there are really great.

Richard,
I watched the DVD and I was amazed by his performances. I am 15 years old, and having no previous knowledge of sleeving, I was truely impressed. I skimmed through the magazine for a bit, and it looks like another fantastic issue! Thank you very much for publishing such a great magazine. It has only made my obsession with magic even stronger!!! :)

Got the July issue today 06/19 w/DVD...

Watched the DVD... I like Rocco and he taught me how to sleeve back in the early 80's (and have used it successfully ever since)... maybe it's just me, but I thought his FISM act was a mess... the earlier material was much better and more focused...

Success!!!

I tried to address the seemingly spontaneous nature of the FISM act in the interview. Rocco sees a connection in everything he does.

Thanks!
