Now that's it's sold I can say:
It's amazing that anyone would pay that much money for the obscene rantings of a mentally ill person.

Richard, for what i know you,I am of the opinion that you are a very moderate(if it is the correct word),maybe tolerant it is more correct.Ready to forget about the past(we talked about it at Blackpool,if you remember, maybe not).As magicians are notoriously curious also about magical chit-chats,I hope you will explain the above in a moment of calm at your booth next week.(I know that you will, but at the same time you hope that NO moment of calm will be there!)But there is always a moment of"rest"we human are obliged to have, but I will not ask,you nor follow you there!

Alessandro, I don't have to explain it: anyone who has a file of the Crimp can post some of the remarks Sadowitz has made about me, Genii, Gene Maze, and on and on.

Seriously, Allesandro, do you read the Crimp? It's not the work of sane person.

I had a full set of crimp and sold it few years back. I didn't get that kind of money.

Maybe the buyer above has paid 1 cent each for every swear words used in the crimp magazine.

there is blood, there is swearing, there is bashing, there is offensive cartoons.... you name it.

One does not need to read The Crimp to get a full dose of Jerry Sadowitz. Just visit his websiteparticularly the bullocks section. Readers of this site will have no trouble guessing the password to his magicians only section, though the only thing that appears there is another rant.

The definition of "insanity" is a legal one.
After looking over the gent's website, his ravings might be the affectations of a histrion, but when accompanied by the life size shot of his angry member, his "dislike" for a certain publisher, his predisposition to make light of tragedy, all memorialized in a child-like scrawl, Alfred Adler might have said that the man exibits most of the outward manifestations of a Gemeinschaftsgefuhl black hole.

That is, if black holes were around when Adler was around.

Anecdotally may I add that unbalanced people are able to recognize each other through the giving of signs...You know..Sorta like the Masons and Elks.

Lacking a background in the field of mental health the above is only conjecture on my part and as such not meant to libel or besmirch the character of the person in question.

On the flip side it is axiomatic that the truth is an absolute bar against the charge of libel.

I did find his "clues" to the password required to gain entrance to the Magicians Only section on the humorous side (With apologies to the party offended.)

Got to get back to studying for my online degree in psychology from LaSalle Extension University.
There is a supposed to be a pop quiz on Monday night.

Yes, black holes were around during Adler's day...and some time before. ;)

Interesting that you mention Adler since he developed the concept of the inferiority complex,
something Jerry seems to exhibit constantly.

Just visited the site and ... wow ... just wow.

I get it, he's been twenty years in the art and all he got was a punch in the face, but anyone else with any time in the art who achieves any success is ripping him off.

If I was that paraniod I'd be afraid to go outside.

The funny thing is, he IS kind of afraid to "go outside." Not in the sense that he doesn't leave his house, but if he meets any of the people he regularly [censored] on in The Crimp or his website, he will not even look them in the face. He can't bring himself to say a word.

I'm not a health-care professional, either, but the dude is nuts. Anyone can see that.

It's very odd when the only thing of any substance on a person's website is a picture of his penis.

That must be very important to him. Unfortunately for him, it's extremely unimportant to the rest of the world.

I do have a couple af the issues of the Crimp, and did,and do consider them"original".I never understood the reason of firing on you and others, but I will discover it in the future. The people(nice people)that work with him never wanted to go in details,I do not know why.I do know that Jerry is what could be called"an eccentric"magician.I have read about his success at Edinburgh's Festival, although he uses a kind of effects that reminds the Martinez one(but he is not as pretty!).And yet,he was nice, enthusiastic and helpful when we talked toghether.Like Sen.Crandall(R.I.P.)(I think it was him)used to say:It's a mystery to me........

Jerry Sadowitz seems very paranoid that people are ripping him off.

I have a very simple solution. He should sell a collective edition of his works, similar to Richard's Collected Almanac.

Immagine the "Collected The Crimp Magazine". I'm sure he would sell tons and it would cut the legs off of the black market demand for his material.

I know I'd buy one for sure.

Jerry was a great friend of the late Peter Kane who was also a creative genius. Jerry was very protective of Peter and both felt very dissapointed at seeing his routines being duplicated wlsewhere. I believe it led to Peter Kane publishing less than he could have done. I believe this is in part why Jerry feels this way.

Peter Kane was one of the very few creators in magic that reliably contributed truly ground-breaking plots. Jerry was very close to him and felt annoyed that he saw Peter's work was revamped by many as their own with just tiny tweaks in handling and little if any crediting.

Its not so much the magic part that pisses him off (though it does), its the theft of his material in the comedy worldwhich is larger and more lucrative than magicthat has pushed him over the edge that led him to posting a photo of his own schmeckle on the Internet. He pretty much challenges the other comics to copy that hunk.

Richard is correct: Its sad.

Well, the Wikipedia entry on Mr Sadowitz claims that he is "known for his frequently controversial 'sick humour'"...

Concerning his "prick humor", I cannot refrain from posting this big link (yes, TASCHEN publishes more than glossy circus and magic books - minimalists, beware!):

(Something to erase if it arouses someone around here inappropriately - sorry!)

I guess that's why Sadowitz works as a professional comic and you don't, Jonathan.
