I like working different dice routines but I was wondering if anybody had any knowledge of the history of dice so that I could see if I could fold that into my routines?

Pick up a copy of Ricky Jay's new book on dice. It's supposed to be released sometime this month.

You can see the new Ricky Jay book on dice (mostly excerpted from a New Yorker article) in the October Genii Speaks. Raucherbaumer will write a bit about it in the November "Flibbertigbigigisity" (or whatever he calls his column).
Here is the link to purchase it on amazon.com:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/ ... 68-3973407
It sells (hardcover) for $10.36 on amazon.
