This weekend I read "Dark Carnival: The Secret World of Tod Browning: Hollywood's Master of the Macabre" and figured that the contents of this biography might appeal to those of you interested in freak shows, silent films, Lon Chaney (!), Hollywood, and, yes, even magic. The book details Browning's fascination with outsiders and the macabre and touches briefly on his involvement with magic and magicians. Overall, an interesting read.
