I'm not sure whether I read this or heard about Jasper Maskelyne and that there was going to be a film made about his contribution to the war in 1939-45. Maskelyn being played by Tom Cruise. Has it been made and has anyone seen it?

I believe Peter Weir was to direct, but bowed out when he learned that there was little factual basis to the story...

Ive never known a deficiency of facts in a script to get in the way of films based on real people. Cruise could just hire Oliver Stone to direct.
