Vol. X CLASSIC MAGIC SERIES

Postby Rene Clement » December 23rd, 2001, 7:38 pm

Robert Albo was publishing Volume 10 of the CLASSIC MAGIC Series. It was scheduled to be released after August. I have not yet received my copy, did anyone else not yet receive this or does anyone know if this book's release was delayed?

Rene,
I haven't heard anything about the book, but it was definitely NOT out by the time of the History Conference in Los Angeles at the beginning of November or we would almost certainly have seen a copy there. I would drop Albo a line directly.

Thanks Rich,
Last thing I got was a postcard from Robert Albo acknowleging receipt of my payment and advising the book would be out August/September. I am just hoping the book was delayed rather than that it was mailed to me and I didn't receive it for some reason.

I recently received a letter from Dr. Albo apologizing for the delay. He also mentioned that the September 11 tragedy pushed back the release even further than he expected. I don't have the letter in front of me at the moment, but I believe he indicated a new ship date. If you pre-registered for the book, you should have the letter by now. If not, I'd write him again just to be safe.

I spoke to Byron Walker 2 days ago, he helps Dr Albo distribute the books. The books were supposed to be shipped from Hong Kong to Dr Albo on Dec 10, once they arrive he will send them to all buyers.

I spoke with Dr. Albo early December and he indicated that he was hoping to get the books out Dec. 15 so people would start getting them for Christmas, guess from the US postings this did not happen. I am always concerned about my delivery because of International mails and the Christmas period.
I hope to hear (read?) that folks start receiving them soon.

I received a letter from Dr. Albo, postmarked 1/28, stating that the books will arrive in San Francisco on 2/9. Each book will arrive individually boxed and pre-addressed. He expects the customs process to take 3-4 days for clearance after which all books will be mailed directly to each customer via USPS. I'm unsure about which class/rate he will utilize.

The letter says that if you do not receive your order by the end of Feb, you should call or write him. He noted his phone # and address. No email, unfortunately.

Hope this helps.

I was told last week, that the ship they were on, was due into San Francisco Bay on 2/9, and then they had to wait for the cargo to clear customs, that can take a few days to a few weeks for that to happen, all depends on customs agents at this point, but the books were going to be shipped very promptly after the customs clearance

I also got the letter telling me to expect a late february shipment. These days everything takes a long time to clear customs because of the security issues.

Its' now March 27th and I have not seen my copy of #10 yet. Being in Canada the postal service is sometimes (always) slow, especially for book class (which would seem to be the way these high priced books are sent out) I would be interested in knowing if folks are still receiving theirs?? What is the opinion on it (I enjoy all the others)

Everyone I know, that ordered thiers, have recieved it,, my understanding was they were shipped by fedex(I picked mine up in person) do you not have fed ex in Canada?
If you do have fed ex, then I would only guess holdup at customs, you might wanna contact Albo either way.

Should have mentioned that Bob only has a postal box address, which no courrier service
will deliver to. I will give it another 7-10 days then call Robert if nothing shows.
