im not sure if i like the thought of all the classic books coming out on DVD, i think i'll pass on this, unless erdnase does it himself.

i think not revealing the magician who is doing it, would keep with the history of the book.not for me though, cheers, brian.

Was it just me, or did those cards really change from blue to red, and back to blue again?

Indeed, around 1:10 the cards are red. They probably did two takes of the routine with different coloured cards and cut the clip together from both sources?!

I have to consider myself lucky to see both men lecture and spend a little time with them. I'll tell you that both Wesley and Allan have a great love for magic and an incredible amount of skill to go with it.

I think I remember seeing it in a multi-part German TV-Series called something like "Magic Las Vegas". There were a lot of acts (both stage and close-up) and some interviews. I remember seeing Ackerman doing a version of "Multiplex Reset" and Daryl doing the Jumping Knot and a Colour Changing Knive routine among other things. Somewhere I have it all on tape.

I cant wait for this dvd. Allan is by far the finest card magician in the world... and geno has put out some excellent dvds like the mike skinner series the brother john hamman dvd and the jinx and phoenix cd roms all are top of the line. I look forward to watching Allan do the dps, erdanase shift, and two handed color change first method just to name a few. I have had the honor of Allan and Geno teaching me magic over the years and am such a better magician and person for it.

From what I've been able to garner from Allan the release will most likely be in Late Spring 2007 and will consist of between 6 to 8 DVD's. It's sure to be an instant classic.

Never thought I'd ever see Mr Ackerman do the playing card tie thing.

Certainly looking forward to seeing his DVD set. I love his relaxed manner and natural handling. A thing of beauty always to behold.

Geno, with the new Magic Makers "Expert" DVD with Wes coming out soon, you might want to give folks some accurate ideas of what's happening with Alan's disc, and when we (realistically) will be seeing it.

It would be a shame to lose sales to MM for lack of information on the AA disc.

I welcome Wes's video adaption on the Expert at The Card Table. His and ours are two seperate projects.

Our delay is in being accurate. Alan wants everything accurate and not a "Table of Contents" video. We have shot more than 50 hours and counting.

The real judge of the production will be the consumer and their acceptance of the project. Hopefully they will enjoy it and its long term success will be the marketplace and outlets where it will be sold.

Hey Geno,

Do you have any updates for us all on the Ackerman EATCT DVD Series. I bet its tough with classes going on. Perhaps some time can be garnered over the Spring Break to wrap things up.

WANTED

ERDNASE

REWARD

We are going to offer a competition to find out who the real Erdnase was.

Cash prizes will be offered for the entry or entries that can prove or make a case that will be judged by an independent panel, that will lead us to Erdnase.

And to "sweeten" up the pot the front runner and possibly runners will have a chance to guess or pick a couple of words out of the Expert at the Card Table. If they pick the exact word or phrase, they could win $250,000.00 cash, in one lump sum. If the rules allow multiple picks the grand prize will be aggregate to the winners. (Split)

Statement: the above is a basic idea of what the REWARD for ERDNASE is about. These are not the rules or the exact terms of the competition. Any of the above may be changed and there is a chance that this contest may not happen.
This contest is not being offered at present and will be subject to all applicable Federal and local laws. It also may not be legal in certain states or cities.
There is no entry fee and there will only be one entry per person.
Every entry must be submitted with the official entry form which is not available at this time.
The start of the competition and details will be announced in the future.
No questions about this contest will be answered at this time, but will be answered when the contest begins.
We reserve the right to deny any application that does not meet the requirements of the entry rules. The rules are not completely formulated at this time.
No purchase is necessary.
The chances of your winning are subject to the final rules and conditions that will be posted at the start of the contest.
All of this message is subject to U.S. Code and subject to our attorneys approval of the contest.

One more thing. Your suggestions are welcome, however we will not respond to every email or suggestion.

And why am I doing this?

Its good PR for the project, maybe good PR for Allan Ackerman and its fun.

Be patient.

I made the mistake over 20 years ago of announcing the David Roth book and starting to take orders--and then it took another half a year to finish.

So, things done well take time.

Let the sloppy folks rush their products to market.

Huh?

Geno: You should contact those who have put some thought into the identity of Erdnase, for starters David Alexander and Richard Hatch.

My thoughts exactly.
What happens when 3000 people all write in with Dick or David's candidates as their OWN candidate, and then the last 1000 write in with Todd Karr's candidate?

What's it based on?....creative imagination or hard facts?

There's been a lot of work and time put into the search by the three gentlemen above, I hope this isn't going to just be a bunch of guessing?

Then he's on the right track. But making it a "competition" doesn't make much sense, IMHO. I suspect Mssrs. Alexander and Hatch would be reluctant to engage in a formal "battle of theories."

Setting aside the notion of a competition, the idea of enriching the DVD set with historical background is a very good one, and a strong argument could be made that such an offering would be incomplete without including the fascinating history of this book and its pseudonymous author.

But arent Dick, David, and Todd still in the midst of their investigations anyway? I dont know if theyd be comfortable saying this guy is Erdnase (though I am Erdnase).

Of course they can always do their respective talks on the evidence they have thus far amassed, which would be great. I agree that they would not want to have a battle of the theories. Have them present separately and let the viewer come to their own conclusions based on the evidence presented.

Given the unprecedented popularity of the Erdnase thread on this site, clearly there is an audience for this information versus the blatherings of some wannabes trying to win a contest.

DEW, you're correct, but as you later imply, the lack of conclusive proof should not deter some sort of presentation of ideas at this juncture in time.

Although Geno's project is probably not the proper venue, it would be interesting to hear Bart Whaley's and/or Jeff Busby's comments/responses now that much time has passed and many new ideas have been presented since the publication of their The Man Who Was Erdnase.

And let's not forget Tom Sawyer, who wrote and published quite a bit on Erdnase's identity.

Yes, Geno contacted me. We were unable to come to terms so, as it looks now, I will not be participating in the DVD. I can't speak for Dick or Todd.

And yes, you're correct, one of my conditions for appearing was that I would not engage in a debate nor would I criticize anyone else's theory or work.

At the moment I'm digging into several new and interesting areas that have not been previously explored that may produce results. Time will tell.

Since the number of people engaged in even minimal research in this area seems to be tiny, it will be interesting to see who enters this "contest" and who Geno finds with sufficient expertise to judge who, if anyone, is correct.
