Magician Criss Angel

Postby Terry » February 11th, 2002, 11:53 am

For anyone interested....

"Magician Criss Angel", who appeared in the show known as 'Mindfreak', which has been playing at 'The World Underground Theatre' at WWF New York, will perform a very bizarre publicity stunt sometime next week. This unusual performance will involve the "Magician Criss Angel" being suspended eight feet above the ground with 8-gauge fish-hooks going straight through his skin.

Wow ... That's really magical! Why is it that only we magicians resort to these stupid "endurance" stunts, in order to generate publicity? You'll never see an actor standing atop a telephone pole, or a singer hanging from a meathook, in order to promote their latest movie or concert. Even clowns, jugglers, and ventriloquists have more self respect. I can't imagine Willie Tyler & Lester freezing themselves in a block of ice for a week, in order to plug their latest gig ... well mabey just Lester. I could say a lot more on this subject, but I have to be downtown by noon. I'm scheduled to have 2 midgets crush cinderblocks on by stomach with a sledgehammer. (I'm not promoting anything, I just like having midgets crush cinderblocks on my stomach with a sledgehammer).

Willie Tyler and Lester? Do you think they are out touring the comedy circuits with Gary Muledeer?

I haven't heard their names in 20 years or so.

I wonder why Mr.Angel feels he needs to do this...he already has a great show in NY. I like the way he "updated" the metomorph illusion.

Since he is performing in the same building that houses the WWF NY Restaurant, maybe they approached him to do something newsworhty to advertise both his show and their business?

If I recall correctly, there were some people hanging from big ass fish-hooks in the movie "Hellraiser." They seemed to enjoy it.
