Although I have both books, it is good to see people expressing an interest. I am just curious, is Charles Hsu the real person that has caused you to republish these books? Was it his videos that encompassed the Internet that caused this entire Japanese revival, and eventually urging you to right a new Japanese book?

Yes. Charles, a young magician sitting in front of his computer in Taiwan and posting videos on YouTube of these tricks, has created great interest from magicians around the world--enough for me to reprint the books.

And so it is! The books are completed and have been shipped to the fulfillment warehouse. Coincidentally, we have been involved in our usual bi-annual budget meeting which has taken up much of everyone's time for the past week.
But, we expect to get all the books shipped out within the next few days.

P.S. What are pip transfers and how do I get a blank card with a single Ace pip in the corner?

Qtipmagics: pip transfers are sheets with pips printed on them that will rub off onto a playing card (like transfer lettering). Don't know if these are still available.

As far as the other card, you'll find that fine steel wool, when rubbed on the face of a card, will remove pips (erase them).

I believe I saw some at Magic Land a few months ago. I didn't realize they were the "right stuff" at the time though.

Also, if this deserves to be edited by all means go for it:
Can anyone help me though with NEMP. I can never take off the cellophane of the card box, it always breaks off. Any help/tips?

I can't recall the requirements necessary for New Era Moving Pips, but you can peel open the end of the cellophane on any cardcase by picking at it with your nail, then patiently working it open.
Are they using some new kind of glue now?

Adding to Mr. Kaufman's advice, if the final cellophane isn't square, you can always use a ruler and cut it even with an X-Acto knife.

Yes... that's the stuff, but given HL's reputation for on-line accuracy I would advise an email (or phone) confirmation prior to ordering. If you order and the item is not in stock he still charges your CC. No refunds after the fact. You'll be stuck chasing down a store credit. Too much work!

Richard I don't mean to be a bother, but I ordered the books for my friend on October 18, and they still haven't come. Is that due to a lot of orders, or is my order lost?

Hey qtip, I've been inquiring about the same thing from one of the "Kaufman and Co." workers (Margret) through e-mail and she said it's due to the fact that "all orders are sent via media mail." It's been about 3 weeks since I've placed my order so I'm a little concerned as well.

Asking me about orders on the Forum is not of much use. You need to contact the office. Book orders are sent out about three times a week. Because we don't charge for postage, they are sent by Media Mail. It can take up to 21 days for the books to arrive. I could charge $8 to $12 for postage and send them by UPS and it would still take 7 days to cross the country.

Would you say, generally, that you would rather pay for postage and receive the items more quickly? We have no control over them once they go into the United States Postal System.

At any rate, we replace any lost shipments so there's never any reason for real concern.

To all:
I've bought several books directly from Kaufman & Co. and they've always come through. Definitely no need for concern.
