Name that Trick

Postby Guest » July 31st, 2002, 8:16 pm

Hi All, This is a great site. I have a question. What is the name of the trick that David Blaine does where he places a quarter on the back of a spectators hand, then passes his hand over the spectators, and the quarter vanishes? I would like to add that to my collection. Thanks

i dont know what the " trick " is called. posibly the vanishing coin. However, the gimmick that makes it possible to do this effct , and many others has the same naome as a large black bird.
I am sory if i am being a bit cryptic, but using the clues i have given you , you should find it your self.
and even if it takes weeks, and weeks, it will be nowhere near as long as you will have to spend getting it right,
and when you do, i can also guarentee you will never use it.Because hardly anybody does.
yours in magic....

never more.

Hi,
I have to agree with Dale if you get it you will probably file in your drawer and the trick he is referring to is "The Raven" very difficult to do smoothly..Good luck
The effect is the important thing, how you achieve is not !!

Again, this is a trick motif with many names:
FRED
OSCAR
CLYDE
FIDO
LONELY HORACE
FEMALE

Nick Trost is only one among many. The APPROACH and PLOT as far as I know should be credited to Fred Lowe.

Many of the METHODS, however, are different--ranging from rough-and-smooth, dupes, and wax.

Does this trick fall into the category of RIP-OFFS GALORE?

Yes and no.

Onward...

That's one of the first tricks I ever bought...I should dig that out again and play with it some more.
