Friend wants to learn impromptu - advice?

Postby mrgoat » June 8th, 2005, 2:22 pm

Friend wants to learn magic. He fancies learning stuff he can do with things in his pockets. (wahay).

Good intention.

I do cards though.

Any recommendations for entry level learning in the impromptu field? DVD or book.

Thanks in advance.

Martin Gardner's " Encyclopedia of Impromptu

Magic " It is a compilation of a articles in

Hugards Magic Monthly . Lots of material a big

book, a lot of choices from no talent to mild

talent , giving him plenty of time yo learn how

to entertain with magic ......Mike Walsh

If you are near NYC, meet Jerry Deutsch on a Saturday at the pizza place. Have a look at the "perverse magic" thread here, and some of his contributions to Apocalypse magazine. The guy studied with slydini and knows how to bring magic to people.

Just a thought :)

This friend is more at the 'learn a couple of tricks to do in the pub' stage rather than the 'Faking It' for channel 4 stage!

Also, I doubt he has the budget for Pat!

Dan Harlan's "Ultimate Impromptu" vids are a great resource for top notch / instant gratification impromptu stuff.
