Could someone shed some light on the above?
I have read elsewhere that Jennings 67 is book # 1 of the trilogy. Is The Classic Magic of Larry Jennings book #2?
When will book three be published?

Re: Jennings trilogy?
The Classic Magic of Larry Jennings is unrelated to the Jennings trilogy. Jennings '67 was the first volume of the trilogy. The other volumes were to be/will be Mr. Jennings Takes it Easy and Mr. Jennings Takes it Tough. From comments made by Richard in another thread, it sounded as if '67 was not a stellar seller. I have heard that some additional work has been done recently on Easy -- but have no idea when/if it will be published.
'67 is a wonderful book -- you really feel like you've come to know Jennings, and it is one of the few places where you can peak over a creator's shoulder and watch how he moves from a raw idea to a finished piece.
Best,
N.

Re: Jennings trilogy?
Will there be any overlap between book 2 & 3 of the Jennings Trilogy and "The Classic Magic of Larry Jennings"?
I don't have either, but I intend to purchase them in the near future.

Re: Jennings trilogy?
There is only a little bit of overlap between Mr.Jennings Takes it Easy and Classic Magic.
There will be more overlap between the earlier Jennings books and Mr. Jennings Takes it Tough, but only in cases where the descriptions in the earlier book were seriously inadequate, or Jennings had better versions which he didn't publish. There are number of items which qualify under those circumstances.
At the moment, Noah Levine is editing Mr. Jennings Takes it Easy and also writing some of the effect descriptions that will go at the beginning of the explanations (I don't have the time). I will be editing these. I have about six more descriptions of effects and sleights to write, and then the text will be done.
Illustrations or photos are the next step.

Re: Jennings trilogy?
Each book will be at least 300 pages, if not more.
At the moment, Mr. Jennings Takes It Easy is about 250 pages without any drawings or photos, of which there between 500 and 1000 (I haven't actually counted yet).
So, both books will be enormous.

Re: Jennings trilogy?
Richard,
Does it seem like the Jennings books will be primarily illustrated or a mix between illustrations and photos?

Re: Jennings trilogy?
Richard,
Any coin work in either upcoming book? I imagine you will reprint the airport coin trick from genii.
Als, is Larry's version of Roy Walton's "Mutual Mindreading" in 'Takes it Easy'?

Re: Jennings trilogy?
Yes, there is quite a bit of coin work (a large chapter) in the Tough book.
I'm not familiar with the Walton trick you're referring to.

Re: Jennings trilogy?
The Walton trick is in 'Devil's Playthings', I think. A friend of mine that knew Larry Jennings pretty well during his last few years told me that Larry had a version of Roy's trick. I like Roy's orginal so he used to tease me with what exactly Jenning's handling was and told me it was going to turn up in the upcoming books.Originally posted by Richard Kaufman:

Re: Jennings trilogy?
Will the material in Jennings' newly released book "Up in Smoke" be included in future volumes of the Jennings Trilogy?
I am confused as to the different sources of Jennings material.
I do not want to end up purchasing the same material twice.
