Exotic Bird Steal

Anyone have any insight on how to attach an exotic bird harness to the back of my assistant's dress to facilitate a back body steal? The weight is a little much to attach directly to the material.

It's easy to sew a harness out of nylon webbing (seat belt straps) that she could wear underneath the dress. That would transfer the weight to her body rather that the dress. A canvas or upholstery shop could do it.
