U.S. Television Networks seeks Magicians for new show
Re: U.S. Television Networks seeks Magicians for new show
What is the name of your production company? What is your web address? What will you do with the videos submitted? Where is your "brick and morter" facility?
You might want to post a copy of the "release" that you are asking people to sign....

Right ........ you're producing a television show that will be seen by millions , but you have a Yahoo email address .
(not that there's anything wrong with that )
Ok. What's the name of the production company ?

tsk tsk.....I wish I were wrong about Jenny, but I don't think so....
What a cool way to get people to send you videos and stuff....
She came screaming into Magic and Illusion, and she would not provide any more information than she has here....

Thanks, Mr. Carifo, for clearing that up. My initial reaction was similar to opie's, but I realize that the process has to work like that. It is a constant crapshoot for some performers to submit themselves to these anonymous audtion calls. I guess once you are well known enough, "they" will come directly to you.

We shall see. If she was serious, she would have elaborated somewhat and at least presented some credentials. I might be wrong, but I don't think so. They always want more people than they can use. I have been an extra in a dozen or so movies, and the casting folks always seem to want/need more than they get.

Re: U.S. Television Networks seeks Magicians for new show
As I said in a post on the close-up section, the "release" has you giving your ideas, video, pics, whatever, to the production company without compensation, other than a "special thanks" in the credits. How generous!
The phone number provided to me reverses to:
http://www.populararts.com/about_flash.asp
They begin by trying to get material from everyone they can for free. A demo video (without a release) is one thing....ideas and full acts are something else. Obviously, they think there are a large number of magicians so anxious to be on TV that they'll give their stuff away for the "exposure."
They're probably right.
