This one's for Jim Riser :

In the Black Museum at Scotland Yard, there is a gadget we captured on a Flying Squad raid on a gambling party. It is a delicate instrument of wires, springs, and pulleys, almost as small as the works of a watch. It fits the forearm, and strings run down to the left foot.

A card-sharp can, by a slight movement of his foot, under the table, operate this devicecalled a "hold-out" and whisk a chosen card out of sight up his sleeve, at a speed the eye cannot possibly follow. When he wants to play this "stolen" card, he moves his foot, and the card is flipped into his hand.
