Slip cut force

Postby El Mystico » June 8th, 2005, 6:59 am

Can anyone point me to sources on information on good handlings of the slip cut force?
I've got one - but I can't remember where I got it from! I thought it was a Vernon handliung, but can't see reference to it in any of his books

thanks

There's a good description of the slip force in Carneycopia on pages 194-195. This particular handling is quite deceptive and is attributed to Marlo (Kabballa, Vol.1 No. 4, Dec 1971).

Doc Eason has one of the best versions I've seen. I believe it's on one of his videos. He's a great guy. If you contact him I'm sure he'd be happy to tell you where you can find it. He's at www.doceason.com.

Hi El Mystico,

Gary Kurtz's very deceptive handling for the Slip Force can be found in UNEXPLAINABLE ACTS (pg 26).

Gary Ouellet's "Rotating Slip Force" is also worth a look (see FINGER ON THE CARD, http://www.camirandmagic.com/mm01_1.html ).

I would agree with Bob on this one, I use his (Doc's) method, I thought I had come up with some original subtleties myself. Nope, Doc was already using them. His version of the force is on either the 1st or 2nd video of his 3 set bar magic DVDs.

I'm pretty sure the method Doc Eason uses on his videos is actually a J.C. Wagner handling.

The slip force J.C. Wagner uses IS Marlo's handling from Kabbala. I guess this brings us full circle.

The Vernon handling is in the Vernon Folio in Pallbearers - don't know how it compares with Marlo's.

Aaron Fisher has a move called the Covered Slip Cut. I think it's in his FISM 2003 Lecture Notes available
on his website.

The (superb) Kurtz' handling is also in his (Kaufman) book "Unexplainable Acts"
