Looking for Charlie Millers ring move in Magicana

Postby Guest » March 1st, 2007, 8:30 pm

I am looking for the ring move for a ring and string routine that was published in Genii's Magicana. this is the move where a legitamate knot is tied around a finger ring yet the ring is removed from the string and the knot remains. if anyone could tell me which issue of genii this was publised, i would be forever grateful.

Genii Vol. 31 No. 6 February 1967
Magicana: "A Version Of The Ring On Rope To Pencil"
I think this is the trick you are referring to.
Best regards,

You're wellcome.

I couldn't help noticing that you in another post were looking for old issues of Genii containing the routines on "ring off rope to stick" (I just looked up the March 81 issue).

Do you know about the online Genii archive ?

Charlie Miller must have liked this trick.
Different versions is also disscussed in:
GENII Sept 61
GENII March 81
James Patton also have it in GENII January 1991
Jim Ryans version is described in New Phoenix 337 Sept 1950.

Jim Ryan's version is also in his JIM RYAN CLOSE-UP/ SENSATIONAL STUNNERS (vol. one) by Phil Willmarth. That set of four booklets is must reading for any close-up magician.
