Bob Farmer's "Card Quotient"

Postby Guest » October 11th, 2004, 9:39 am

In Vis a Vis, in a footnote on page 106, Jack Avis refers to "Card Quotient" by Bob Farmer, a presentation of Jack Carpenter's "A Portent Presage" where the switch of the third card has been altered.

I have performed the Carpenter handling for a some time and love it except that I do find that switch reduces the impact/cleanliness of the effect. Accordingly I would love to read the Farmer handling.

Does anyone know if Bob Farmer's "Card Quotient" is published anywhere?

Bob was very kind in sharing his alternative handling of "Potent presage" over at my forums. It's a very thoughtful (as one would expect from Bob) take on an already great trick.

John Bannon also shared another excellent variation from his upcoming book Dr. Mr. Fantasy entitled "Trait Secrets" which does away with the switch completely!
