"Stuff" by Eric Mason

Was "Stuff" ever reviewed in Genii? If you have the book I would be curious to hear your thoughts on it.

Does he rely on knuckle-busting sleight of hand or subtlety?

What kinds of effects are emphasized? (Gambling, Mindreading, Magic, All)

Many thanks for any information you can provide!

Bill,

The great magic aside, one should own STUFF for the illustrations alone. Eric Mason was the best!

There's quite a mixture of stuff in "Stuff", including material reprinted from "Pabular" magazine and a few marketed items. It contains plenty of card sleights and tricks (some of it quite difficult) but also things with coins and miscellaneous close-up effects, often with gimmicks and things you have to make up. His impromptu rising card, which is the basis of many subsequent versions, is in there too.

Hank Lee's online catalogue has a bit of a description:

Also Martin Breese:

I must admit I haven't looked at it for some time now, but it's a wonderful book to have and to look through.
