Harry Lorayne's Best of Friends Vol 1

Postby walkinoats » March 6th, 2002, 5:50 am

I primerly work with cards and was wondering what would be a better investment. Harry Lorayne's "Best of Friends" Vol 1
or the "Apocalypse first five years" ?

I understand that the Apocalypse has a wide varietly of cards, coin, etc. But I am interested in card magic.

thanks

I enjoyed reading the Apocalypse alot more. I think the routines in the Apocalypse were overall much better but I also like reading Harry's comments and just seeing how the magazine progressed over the first 5 years.

You get to see versions of "Back Off" and "Modern Jazz Aces" before they made it to Darwin's book "At The Card Table". There are lots of other examples as well.

Hi

I have the first two volumes of Apocalypse, and they are great of course. But if you are a card man, then Best of Friends vol 1 is a must have book.

Its one of my three favourite magic books ever.

cheers

Best of Friends Vol. 1 hasn't grabbed me in the way other books have. What routines have floated your boat in that tome?
