The Xpert

Postby Necromancer » August 25th, 2003, 2:43 pm

Thank you, Genii and Danny Orleans, for your incredible praise of my product, The Xpert.

For those who have not yet read the September 2003 issue, Mr. Orleans concludes his review with these memorable words:

"I'm sure Ted Annemann is looking down from heaven muttering to Corinda, 'I wish the technology for "Xpert" were possible 60 years ago: it would've made a great chapter in Practical Mental Effects.'"

I'm truly honored.

Again, I ask, where are you performing in Chicago (maybe I can see the Xpert in action as part of a larger performance)?!

Neil,
Xpert is one of those ideas that just gets your mind racing. We've been flying through them here at the shop.
We're taking a load of them to the MAES Convention next month, and we expect to come home empty-handed. Kudos!

News flash: a solution to the device's current incompatibility with major card brands is currently being tested and will most definitely appear in the upcoming booklet of additional Xpert routines, due out in the Spring.

To everybody who has purchased The Xpert as a result of Genii's review, thank you. If you haven't done so already, be sure to stop by my website for your free bonus material. (www.necromancerevents.com, product page password: JINX)

Isn't there also a problem with the Xpert's alter ego and numerous card brands?

Seems to me it's the card finish, and we magicians, as heavy users, should somehow strongly clarify our needs to the card manufacturer.

^^^It seems to work best on cheap cards because they tend to be very smooth and lack the dimpled "air cushion" type of finish you find on Bikes and other premium brands. ____________________________________________________________

That's a nice sentiment WarlockDrummer, but the real heavy users are casinos, not magicians.

Chris: you're right, the textured finishes are the biggest issue (though one we probably shouldn't be discussing openly in this forum). And there's no shame in using cheap cards -- you are writing all over them and giving them away, so why wouldn't they be? (That's my excuse, anyway.)

Regardless, the solution being tested should please users of Bikes et al.

My thanks to Jason for working on his approach to what I am currently calling the Bicycle Brouhaha.

I should tell you, though, that the solution I'm testing is significantly more deceptive. I fully expect to include it in the upcoming Xpert booklet due in the Spring.

And to all who are coming up with exciting new ways to use The Xpert, please share your thoughts with me for possible inclusion in the upcoming booklet. You can reach me at neil@necromancerevents.com

Thanks,
Neil

New Xpert Effect Coming to the Free Bonus Routines Section of www.necromancerevents.com!

It's finally happened: the "Most Wanted" presentation by Jamie Badman has become yesterday's news. So after the Xmas holiday weekend, I'll be replacing it with a different effect. All Xpert users are invited to stop by for a spell.

Happy Holidays,
Neil Tobin

Another Free Xpert Bonus Routine Has Just Been Posted.

And here's the clincher: it's a card effect that works perfectly with Bicycle cards, or any other brand you prefer!

More magic than mentalism, it's called Transboxition by Joe Wach. I hope you like it.

Enjoy,
Neil Tobin
