Hi!
Something is confusing me in November's Magicana. In the "Hew by Hue" trick by J.K. Hartman, a trick ("Red and Black") is referenced as being published in the September 1999 issue of Genii. Last night I checked the original magazine but I couldn't find the original trick... :( Is it only me? Or is the reference wrong? It doesn't seem that trick has been published at all in 1999's Genii: I checked the year 2000 volume and no luck at all.
I'm sure I'm just missing something, and I would appreciate it if somebody could point me to the right direction.
Many thanks, all the best,

John Kennedy's "Red and Black" is in the March 1989 issue of Genii.

Many thanks!
Re: Reference in November's Magicana
If you are looking for info or variations of Kennedy's "Red and Black", you might contact Gordon Bean, who had an interesting variation that combined the Gilbreath Principle with a One-Way Deck to reinforce the randomness of the discard pile, and allow the balance of the deck to be shown mixed, as well. I think it was discussed here at one time. My notes mention info from the Genii board...
