I liked this one since I had a leg up because I already had tried "Snap Change" from "Kaps on Kards" which is very similar to "The Horace Gold Change". The only difference was the Kaps held the card horizontally.
My question is what ideas do you have for clean-up at the end of the split? You are left holding the changed card. There were none given in the article.
I also found the second version where you peel off the pip a little easier for me.

Re: The Twin's Split
The first version, the split, is done while holding the deck in the left hand. It's an easy matter to manuever the hands together so the hidden card goes on top of the deck.

Re: The Twin's Split
You could take an Ace of Diamonds, another Ace of Diamonds with no center pip (by erasing the pip or adding AD indexes onto a blank card), and a (fake, presumably) diamond.
Hold the double card with the AD visible, and the gem palmed in the left hand. Reach up with the left hand and pull the gem off the card, leaving a card with no pip in one hand and a real diamond in the other. Talk about picking off the pips!

Re: The Twin's Split
If anyone is having trouble with the change (it is a knack). Try holding the cards horizontally. Not as aesthetic, but I found it a little easier. Same mechanics, but the card going around clears a little easier, since it only has to go the width of it. It also provides for more cover for the hidden card. Once you have it down then start trying it vertically.
When done correctly, it does look amazing!
Seems like there should be some other applications for this move like Mr. McCabe's idea above.

Yes, decades ago Mr. Latta plucked the Heart pip off the center of a card and was seen to be holding a small heart in his hand.
And he so rarely has his heart in his hand.

Re: The Twin's Split
You could take a regular AH and a blank card with AH indexes and hold them back to back, with the regular AH showing. Then do the snap-over change on your arm, revealing, yes, your heart on your sleeve.
See? David Regal's not the only one who likes a little pun now and then.

Didn't David Blaine do something similar on the Carson Daily Show? ;)... decades ago Mr. Latta plucked the heart pip off the center of a card and was seen to be holding a small heart in his hand

Re: The Twin's Split
I had the pleasure of spending some time with Dan and Dave Buck this past weekend and asked them to perform the split for me. In Dave's hands, this looks exactly like trick photography. The center pip of a three just comes right off. I do plan on working on this one.
