So - the DVD isn't quite out yet but I do have some new lecture notes that were put together for the 2011 GGG convention.

Written by John Lovick and titled Full Frontal Mayhew they are 30 pages long, and comb bound. For what it's worth, here are the effects (with Lovick's Effect write up in some cases):

The Bugs Bunny Dang Deal
- An expansion of Paul Harris' "A Subtle Poker Move". A no skill gambling type effect for people who don't like gambling effects.

Full Frontal Conus
- Effect: There is quite a bit of fun interaction before you get there, but at the end of this routine a spectator deals four Aces to the table and places her hand on the Aces. The magician then produces the four Aces, and the cards under the spectators hand are seen to have changed into indifferent cards.
(This is a full writeup of my handling of my favorite trick)

Mayhew Monte Explosion
- Effect: This begins as a fairly standard three-card routine with a Monte presentation. It ends with the three cards instantly turning into a royal flush.
This routine lends itself to different endings. After explaining the basic version, a few variations are described.

The Standing Demonstration
- Effect: A card is turned faceup in the middle of the deck. When the magician says Top, the card instantly appears on the top of the deck. He repeats the procedure and lets the spectator say Top. It still works. With the faceup card on top of the deck, the magician says hell try it the hard way. He says Bottom, but nothing seems to happen. He spreads the deck and the whole deck has turned faceupthe card actually is on the bottom.

Hungry Now?
- Effect: A really fast, really difficult, visual sandwich. In fact, this effect is so difficult that Dan & Dave Buck once featured it on one of their videos

A Bird in the Hand
- Two different tricks by Jim Steinmeyer from two different Impuzzibilities books inspired two different magiciansneither having knowledge of the others effortsto independently create two different procedures to engineer the same obscene finish to a simple magic trick.

Old Lazy Fat Guy Cull
- This is a virtually sleight-free method for secretly culling a four-of-a-kind (or royal flush or whatever) to the top of a spectator-shuffled deck. All the dirty work is done in full sight of the audience, but it all seems completely legit and above-board.

No-Skill Deck Switch
- Effect: Duh. Winning!

Look at Me, Look at Me (featuring Jay Jayaramans Ace Production)
- Kind of a fun show offy thing - but Jay's Ace Production is truly great and can be used on its own.

Lets Get Physical
- Effect: You ask a woman to think of a card. Her boyfriend reads her mind and guesses what card she is thinking of (sometimes with mixed results). The boyfriend then cuts right to the thought-of card. This is one of those tricks that renders you almost completely irrelevant.

Bringin it with a Ruckus
- Effect: A card is selected and lost in the deck. (Sound familiar?) The deck is then sprung at a glass sitting on the table or bar. One card manages to slide under the glass; as it turns out, its the selected card. (Not so familiar now, is it?)

Howlin Wolf Aces (Jack Carpenter)- Based on Jack's 'Blind Lemon Aces' this is a great trick that will become a classic.

Labyrinth Blackjack- Head to head blackjack demo. The spectator cuts and deals, hits or stands as he likes, and the magician always wins.

Hey Andrew - not sure if I got back to you, but everything has been sold. Sorry!

And...as far as the DVD goes, I've given up on Brooks ever getting it out...even though it's only been nine years!

In the mean time, Minch is publishing a book written by Lovick, so buy that!! :)

http://www.hermeticpress.com/product_info.php?products_id=100

And...buy Crooked by Ronnie Ramin! I have no idea how Rich Aviles can afford to put out such a high quality product for such a low price, but I'm just going to accept it and be grateful. To top it off, the magic is both terrific and practical! If you do close up magic at all you will enjoy performing this!

Just when I gave up, Brooks came through and delivered on the DVD. This is a good example of why you should always give up as soon as possible.

If you'd like to buy a DVD from me, just paypal to magic.steve@yahoo.com

$35 postage paid in the US
$45 outside of the US. Or just move here, we'd love to have you!

Thanks!

I've got a bunch of these DVDs ("Totally Whacked") and my health prevents me from lecturing, so here's a price reduction:

If you'd like to buy a DVD from me, just paypal to magic.steve@yahoo.com

$25 postage paid in the US
$35 outside of the US. Or just move here, we'd love to have you!

Here are some review snippets that I copied from Murphy's website:

"It’s no secret that I’m a fan of Steve Mayhew’s work. The book by John Lovick was sensational. Now you can get a look at the man at work. Strong material, but more importantly, you get see how a pro PRESENTS not just his tricks, but his personality and truly connects with his audience. Highly recommended."
Steve Valentine, Reviewer 2/6/2015

"I really enjoyed this and I suspect that you will too."
Dustin Stinett, Genii Magazine 12/22/2014

"If you are serious about performing for real spectators, then this DVD is for you"
Paul A. Lelekis, Linking Ring Magazine 2/2/2015

"This DVD was everything I had hoped it would be: short, sweet and totally Mayhew. If you are interested in great card magic material for a bar setting or comedy club, this one's a no-brainer. Get down with it."
Antiono M. Cabral, M-U-M Magazine 4/22/2014

Thank you!

I have moved this into the Collector's Marketplace since it's turning into an ad (no problem with that, just want to keep things tidy). And for the record, Steve is among the few who gets a pass on posting his full contact information. His email is sufficient. And Steve has GREAT stuff; take advantage!

Here are some review snippets that I copied from Murphy's website:

"If you love well written books featuring original card magic and fun presentations, buy this book. If you love the feeling of discovering something new and exciting with the turn of the page, you won’t be disappointed."
Shawn Popp, Reviewer 6/23/2014 Full Review

"This is a good example of not judging a book by its cover. The material in here is powerful. Any card worker would love to add these routines to their repertoire."
William Draven, Reviewer 6/7/2014 Full Review

"What a refreshing read! I absolutely loved the material in this book. Its very easy to read and very original stuff. Highly recommended!"
Eric Leclerc , Reviewer 5/18/2014 Full Review

"All in all, the magic is magical. The comedy is funny. The methods are inspired, and inspiring. I don't know what more you could ask for from a book, but whatever it is, you don't need it. Buy this book and enjoy it."
Curtis Kam, M-U-M Magazine 4/4/2014

"MAYHEW is a great way to start 2014, as far as serious card magic is concerned. I highly recommend it ."
Jason England, Magic Magazine 4/7/2014

"No one is going to complain about a lack of stunning new magic and gambling demonstrations."
Steve Bryant, Reviewer 4/7/2014

"It’s been quite some time since I have seen a book on card magic that made me want to sit down and read the entire book with a deck of bicycles in hand."
Paul Romhany, *Reviews Vanish Magazine 4/11/2014

"The Mayhew routine is hysterically funny, subversive and often just plain wrong, it entertains and amazes and I can’t recommend it enough."
Steve Valentine, Reviewer 6/3/2014
