Forum on Your SmartPhone: 2 Ways, Take Your Choice!
Finally, the Forum is now fully operational for your smartphones and tablets.
You have a choice of two ways to access it.
The first way is free: just go to http://www.forums.geniimagazine.com via the browser on your smartphone or tablet. If it looks like a mess, scroll down until you find the line:
"Switch to Mobile Style." Click on that and you're good to go.
The second way, which offers a more robust experience, is to pay $2.99 or $3.99 for a tapatalk app. Go to the app store and search for tapatalk. You have a choice of tapatalk and tapatalk 2. I paid the extra buck for tapatalk 2. I really like it!
For your iPad, there is a $4.99 version called HD tapatalk.
So, you have two choices for your smartphone, iPad, or Android tablet.

Thanks for listening to my suggestions on this Richard. I think it'll go over very well.
The "HD Tapatalk" is what I use on my android device (Nexus 7 Tablet) and I find it works very well.

Richard, thank you and Brad for setting it up. For those of us too cheap to buy taptalk, is there a way to extract an icon for android desk top? My browser is Firefox. Regardless, both versions look good on my phone.

@Bill McFadden
To extract the icon in Firefox, go to your tab for bookmarks and hold down on the bookmark you want until a window pops up and then select "add to desktop".

Thanks, Chris. Appreciate the guidance. Is Conjure Nation still accepting subscribers?

Yes, and if it's a person that I know is a good, thoughtful poster on a forum like this one, I tend to approve those subscriptions with great alacrity.

Sorry about that. Admittedly I've been a bit more distracted than usual the last two years and that caused a bit of a freeze on allowing new registrations. However, I've recently started allowing new memberships again.

Guys, I was joking (trying to imply that I wasn't a "good, thoughtful" poster). Chris got me signed up right away.
If you have to explain it, it probably wasn't funny to start with . . .

It was as a measure of respect, Mr. M., that I took you seriously. Now it's funny, as I dig where you were coming from, you self-effacing wit, you.

Gotta say, I tried it on my iPhone last night. Blimey. Best mobile formatted forum I've seen. Just lovely. Top marks.

Dear friend Richard,
Thank you very much for your information about tablets app.
I use basic version, but when I have an iPad maybe I will use "Tapatalk".
Thanks again for everything and our best wishes from Barcelona-Spain.

FWIW, Tapatalk is well worth the measly three bucks. The Forum now looks and works beautifully on Android browser (free), or through Tapatalk.
Re: Forum on Your SmartPhone: 2 Ways, Take Your Choice!
Thanks Richard. Just installed Tapatalk onto the iPad. Works and looks great. Appreciate the easier mobile access to the forums.

Re: Forum on Your SmartPhone: 2 Ways, Take Your Choice!
The first way is free: just go to http://www.forums.geniimagazine.com via the browser on your smartphone or tablet. If it looks like a mess, scroll down until you find the line:"Switch to Mobile Style." Click on that and you're good to go.
When I go to this URL on my phone (a Motorola XT875, running Android, not jailbroken or anything), everything looks okay, but some of the buttons at the top (the row that includes "Today's Active Topics") don't do anything if you touch them. Others do -- if touch the "Switch to Mobile Style" button, it does. But the "Mobile Style" doesn't navigate as well -- there's no way to get a list of recent posts or recently active topics.
Also, while I'm nitpicking, I loaded the Genii app for back issues. The most recent issue displayed is the April one. How do I get it to update with the more recent issues?

Yes, I noticed that top. There is a Nav drop down on the upper left in the mobile button. It sure would be nice if a "Today's Active Topics" choice would be in there please.

Re: Forum on Your SmartPhone: 2 Ways, Take Your Choice!
Bill, all recent issues including the July issue should be on the Android app. Have you tried refreshing it?
While we do have a free mobile app for the Forum, I would suggest parting with the few dollars for Tapatalk. That is how I view the Forum on my iPhone 4S and it works great. Active Topics NO problem.

As far as I can tell, you can download Tapatalk for iOS for free. That will work pretty well with no need to pay a thing.

I haven't looked at it for several years, but Tapatalk used to cost $2 or so. Glad to hear that it's free now! It works really well, too.
