Big Book of Magic by Caveney & Steinmeyer next April
Hey, I spotted this title from the team that brought us the great Taschen book while browsing Amazon. From the description, I'd guess that maybe it is an English only version of the bigger book. Anyone know for sure? Jim, Mike?

I recall that they did something similar with their circus book. It's just a much, much smaller version. It does not have all the pictures in it (I'm not sure if it's just English).

I'm sure, as Dustin says, it's just a miniature version of the book. Many people will prefer this size because it won't crush the genitals during the reading process.

Some people pay extra for that.

This is priceless: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Magic-1400s-195 ... 787&sr=8-1
There are four copies of the big book for sale on Amazon.co.uk for around 550 pounds, but you can trade it in for a 17.15 gift certificate :)
Also, there's a 'I'd like this on the Kindle' request button...

I haven't seen Taschen's small circus book that sells for about $45, but I looked it up on Amazon. It's about 15 X 10 X 2 inches. 544 pages. Maybe it reproduces everything from the giant book but smaller and on cheaper paper. These editions sound like a good price for nice books.

Which is why I had to get my Dad to build me a stand! [img:right]http://i845.photobucket.com/albums/ab11/joseph_pecore/DSC_0072-1.jpg[/IMG]

Larry, you laugh, but Brother Hamman told me that he had trouble reading my edition of Greater Magic because he usually read before going to sleep, and the weight of the book on his chest was painful.
Joe: nice reading stand!

Nice stand, but look at all those empty shelves! They cry out for books!
(Or maybe I'm just hearing my own books crying out for shelf space...)

Hey Joe, do you need some books to put in there?

If you have the space and the means, and no one to make one for you like Joe, Lupe Nielsen is making book stands specifically for the Taschen book. It is an exact duplicate of the one from the Kellar poster that is used on the dust jacket of the book. I have seen these in person and they are absolutely beautiful. The photos do not do them justice. http://nnmagic.com/miscellaneous/miscel ... le.htm#top

Those shelves were only empty for about as long as it took to take the picture! But I can always make room for more. ;)

The table Lupe makes is indeed beautiful, but it doesn't hold any books under it. That's a deal breaker in my crowded home.
