Derren looks set to ruffle a few feathers next week with part 2 of his "Fear and Faith special" in which he asks the question - "Is God a Placebo?"
He is already posting on Facebook: "Part 2 on Friday. Gonna upset a few people I'm sure."
Should be interesting.

IMHO, mocking the faith of others in an attempt to drum up controversy (and presumably, ratings) isn't a terribly original tactic.

There are experiments in developmental psychology on active agency attribution where an imaginary creature interacts with people to some extent. I'm going next door for a few minutes - but if you take a cookie while I'm out of the room "Elmer" will know and tell me and you can't have one of the special cookies at the end of the experiment.

I don't see how stating god is a placebo is mocking the faith of others. Mr Brown always seems quite respectful of people's belief systems to me.

I will end this discussion now.
We do not discuss politics or religion here.
If Derren wants to cause a ruckus, that's his perogative.
