Hi GW--
The best way to quickly learn more about Pop Krieger is to join Ask Alexander. You will pass through the gateway of information that is strewn throughout magic literature. I have volumes 36 and 37 of The Sphinx and I remember seeing an article on Krieger in there. As you might know, he was Al Flosso's father-in-law. Research on Al Flosso could turn up even more information.

New York Dramatic Mirror July 30, 1913 p 6.

"MERRY MAGICIAN" GONE MAD

Louis Krieger, of this city, known in the Adirondack Mountain towns, which he was wont to tour during the Summer seasons as "The Merry Magician," was brought back by his son, James Krieger, who had received a telegram stating that his father was acting queerly.

On the train the elder Krieger became violent and attacked the younger man, nearly choking him into unconsciousness. Arrived at the Harlem Station of the New York Central, with the assistance of Patrolman McDermott, Krieger was conveyed to the psychopathic ward at Bellevue for observation.

Hi

I was pleased to be able to include a section on Krieger in The Coney Island Fakir (which is available for the Kindle). Jackie Flosso had some great material about his grandfather, and I found some additional information from magic magazines of the time.

Hope this helps.
