Argo
Back in 1999, ex-CIA agent Antonio Mendez wrote a book about his deceptive practices which was wonderfully reviewed by our esteemed Jim Steinmeyer.
Steinmeyer's Review
One of the chapters in the book, appropriately titled, "A Classic Case of Deception," goes at length into the process and the eventual solution Mendez arrived at into sneaking 6 American diplomats out of Iran. Sort of like Larry Jennings' "Invisible Travelers" on steroids.
Chapter Excerpt
Fast forward to the present and a movie has been made, based specifically on this chapter in the book, which is sort of a play on itself if you read the excerpt above. The movie is titled, Argo, and is due out on the big screen on Oct. 12, directed and starring Ben Affleck.

Re: Argo
Argo has a good chance at nabbing Ben Affleck nominations for best director and best picture, and it's supposed to be great, too.

Re: Argo
Canada has its nose out of joint about this movie which says the CIA did it all and Canada's role was minuscule. The Canadian ambassador featured in the movie has said that the CIA was the junior partner. Canada also invented the internet -- it was NOT Al gore (who was also a junior partner).

Martin Short should make a movie in which a fake Justin Bieber concert is used as cover to help some people escape from California.

The best Martin Short movies don't have any Martin Short in them. The appeal of this man has baffled me for years.

Re: Argo
He defined, for all future generations (and possible remakes/reboots), the role of Vinz Klortho. If he had done nothing else, that alone shows he is one of the great actors of our time.
But watching Clifford with Martin Short is like chewing on tin foil, without the subtle flavors or the nutrient value of aluminum. "Ed Grimley" gives people who wear their pants too high a bad name. Jackie Rogers Jr. needs, desperately, a tan.
I see from Wikipedia that Short is a judge on "Canada's Got Talent". It has been conclusively proven by real scientists that Canada has got more talent when Short is in America.
That my son enjoys "The Cat in the Hat" cartoon, with the Cat voiced by Short, makes me wonder if something horrible happened at the maternity ward while we weren't looking. He's five, though, so there's a chance he'll grow out of it.

He was great in Little Shop of Horrors, though, wasn't he?

We all have the perfect story line to do any cards across , cards to pocket, card to wallet now (at least while the buzz is still in the air).
