Brian Glover Passes

Postby Q. Kumber » September 16th, 2012, 5:41 am

Brian Glover, from Prestwich, Manchester in England, passed away last night after an illness that struck him in January this year.

Brian, an amateur magician in the purest sense of the word was an expert card magician with an encyclopaedic knowledge of the subject.

Many of his contributions were published in various magazines, especially Abra. He always had something to show and you had only to ask him about an obscure move. Not only would he know it, but also its history and multiple variations.

Brian and Kevin Fox regularly attended conventions together including FFFF where they made many friends.

Sincere condolonces to Brian's wife Jackie.

I read Quentin's sad posting on his Facebook page.

Brian was a gentleman and true fan of magic. I used to enjoy speaking with him and his best magic mate, the late Kevin Fox, at magic conventions where they were in heaven.

Brian was a colleague in the Cavendish Knights of Close Up Magic and a regular guest at shows and events for The Modern Mystic League (Blackburn & District Society of Magicians). He was a true gentleman and loved magic. His knowledge of card magic was profound and he seemed to remember everything he had ever seen or read. We had many happy times. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jackie and family and friends. RIP Brian you will be greatly missed

Brian was a great chap and a VERY well-read cardman. I will miss him, but I'm happy knowing that he and Kevin Fox will be supping a few in a much better place! :) RIP, Brian.

I'll miss Brian as a good friend of many years, we had a 'phone call only last month. His card knowledge and card work were superb. Sincere sympathy to Jackie.

Is there any way of sending these tributes to Jackie Glover as when I just spoke with her she said she would like them? If no other way maybe I suppose I could just print them out.

Anthony: Maybe you could use Adobe Acrobat to convert the page to pdf? (with RK's permission, of course).

Otherwise, you could cut and paste responses into a Word document.

You could do screen shots and save them, then email.
You could print them out and send them.
Or as erdnasephile suggests ...
All okay with me.

I was speaking with Jackie today and would be happy to print them out, along with the Facebook tributes.

Brian's funeral is provisionally set for Thursday 27th but that is to be confirmed.
