The Magic Word podcast

Over a year ago, Dodd Vickers suggested that I start my own podcast to post my audio files of magic conventions. I took his advice and have produced and posted nearly 100 podcasts to date.

Many of the podcasts were daily updates recorded at the convention with the talent, registrants and organizers. If you missed attending any of those conventions, it is a chance for you to hear what you missed each day so you feel as if you could still be there. And if you were there, then you can hear what you may have missed. And if you intend to attend next year, then you can listen to past podcasts to get you "into the mood" for the convention.

There are also in-depth, personal interviews with lecturers who pass through Houston. And I carry my "wandering microphone" with me as I travel so when I come across someone or something interesting to the magic community, then I switch on my recorder.

I call my podcasts "chats" rather than interviews because most of my guests are long time friends. So it is more like you eavesdropping on a conversation rather than the typical "what's your favorite trick" and "how did you get started in magic" type questions.

And in addition to the podcasts, many photos and videos have been posted to the website that are not accessible through iTunes. Moreover, even though the audio podcasts are available in the iTunes store, for some reason, they don't seem to go back to the first podcast in their archives. But you can download them all through the website. Plus the website is searchable since I have tagged everyone I have talked with over the year.

I just returned from the Texas Association of Magicians convention where I chatted with a lot of magicians. But of particular note in this forum, I interviewed Richard Kaufman on the Day Three podcast and he spoke about Genii's history as well as giving us an update on the upcoming convention.

just to let you know Scott, since I discovered these podcasts I have been working through them everyday on way to work and back (50 min car journey) Really enjoyed the FFFF discussions and interviews.
