SAM Hall of Fame and Magic Museum

Postby Zambolini » September 7th, 2012, 9:07 pm

Long out of view, the SAM Hall of Fame's collection of posters, apparatus, illusions, costumes and ephemera will be available to see beginning September 16th, 2012 at the Whittier Historical Society and Museum in Whittier, CA. A large portion of the Hall of Fame Museum's collection will be on display with many items of historical interest once featured in the programs of the world's most famous magicians. The exhibit will occupy virtually the entire second floor of the Whittier Museum for a period of six months to one year. Various magic related events will take place during that period. The Museum has limited capacity but the extended exhibit period will provide time and space for everyone. Whittier is located approximately 18 miles SE of downtown Los Angeles.

Updated information will be provided on the Hall of Fame Facebook page as well as the Whittier Museum Facebook page here:

Sensational! I'm am there.

Is this the collection from the Hollywood office building that was locked away for so many years? I know there were some very nice Houdini items there...handcuff boards, etc.

Oh, that's great news! There were significant HH items in that collection. Hopefully they'll be part of the display.

Here's my report on the opening and display. Yes, the Houdini items are there, including the Russian Manacle. Also Herrmann's cups and balls, Cooke's linking rings, and T. Nelson Downs top hat.
