Cruising through the forum over coffee as I'm prone to do, I notice dozens of third party ads spread around at the bottom of folks various posts.
These are new.
I'm wondering if these ad's are supposed to be there, or if they've somehow crept into the mix.
They're extremely distracting, although if they're supposed to be there I suppose they're going to have to be gotten used to.
Ad's in posts?

I'm probably being thick Mr. G, but I'm not following your post.

You can get add ons for browsers. They do lots of things. One is called AdBlock. It will block ads for you. That is to say it will render the page normally and just leave out the annoying advert.
Re: Ad's in posts?
Thanks M.g.
I've not ever seen these Genii forum ads before.
Today was the first I'd seen the nasty little beggers.
I did however just update my system, which I noted also updated my browser.....I wonder if I uninstalled a previously installed ad blocker when I updated?
.....Richard, are these ads intended to be here on the forum?

No, they are not intended to be there. We are aware of the issue and it's being looked into. (And doing clean up as best as we can.)

Jim, Richard...thanks for all you do in order to keep the Genii forum humming along as smoothly as it does.
Re: Ad's in posts?
Yes I noticed those ads at the top of every page but the index. Top of page, bottom of first 2 or 3 posts within the page. I thought I was going nuts but now that others have noticed them as well, I know I'm not crazy. And I think they appear depending on the country you are in. My ads were Mexican ads (and of course in Spanish).

I'm sure you're already all over these UBB forums Richard and Jim, it appears this is actually a new and a very widespread issue for users of the UBB software.

Does anyone still see these ads? Wondering if the problem has been solved.

I'm not seeing them anywhere presently, and I've visited at least half the forums today.

I just saw (and deleted) a bunch in the RS thread, but the direct links were broken.
