Looking for credit info on the One Ahead Principle

Postby Jeff Pierce Magic » July 17th, 2012, 10:33 am

I know Hen Fetsch invented the Mental Epic routine that uses the one ahead principle but did he invent the principle or just the effect? Can anyone provide credit info on the one ahead principle?

The one ahead principle is as old as hills. One of the first explanation of a magic trick based on it can be found in "Giuochi di Carte Bellissimi de Regola et Memoria" published in Italy in 1593 by Horatio Galasso (p. 59 in Gibciere, Summer 2007 - "The game of guessing three cards on top of three piles").
