Walk around thoughts

Postby Steve Mills » May 15th, 2012, 1:37 pm

At the risk of sounding like an MC starter, I would really like some input on quality walk-around material. I'm not a fan of the "spectator hands as table" approach and am looking for items that can be done surrounded and work from the pockets.

Tricks like Twisting the Aces are perfect. I also like Twisted Sisters a lot. For coins, a quick C/S/B can be appropriate.

Thanks for any thoughts....

Don't you need a surface to do Twisted Sisters?

Colour-changing knives (or USB sticks, Chad Long has a nice new version), lots of in-the-hands versions of Triumph around, rope stuff, gypsy thread, non-gimmicked hopping halves, sponges ...

If you do card tricks for god's sake keep it SIMPLE and commercial. No dealing, no counting, no convoluted multi-phase stuff that requires people to concentrate.

David Williamson's ring and rope routine form "Sleight of Dave 2"

and as selfish I want to be by not mentioning this: David Acer's 'Cheap Labour' from Natural Selections is AWESOME walk around material. You'll find a LOT of people with those cards at the end of the night.

*edit for second idea that came late because it's beer o'clock here
