Jose de la Torre Passed Away

Postby Kevin Connolly » May 4th, 2012, 2:20 pm

This just came in to my email from Merlina:

"I have just received word of the passing of Jose de la Torre, Cuban Magician who was residing in Spain. There are no further details to give at this time but I will forward them as they become available. May he rest in peace."

Jose was big on the magic scene in the 1970's. When ever I was with him, it was a pleasure.

Jose was a very nice person, I purchased the marketing and manufacturing rights to all his color changing knives and several other packet tricks back in 90's just before he left the USA..
My condolences to his family and friends.

I was assigned to the same table as Jose for our meals at a Tannen's Jubilee in the 1970's. He was a kind soul and a true gentleman who took the time to share some of his experiences with a wide-eyed teenager attending his first convention.

Rest in peace Jose.

So sorry to hear this. I remember Jose visiting us often when I worked as a demonstrator at Mecca Magic in East Orange, NJ back in the 70's. He was a great guy and a fine magician.
