My mom actually felt my father needed to
have a set in the collection. So she bought
a set from Uncle Jay in the late 1970's.

Ironicly it wasn't until about 5 years ago
we learned that my father was in Volume 6.

I then documented the story of how that happened
four years ago.

Ha! Pulling a rabbit out of a hat ie EZ. The hard part is getting it in the hat without people noticing.

Hey, Bill, I did Tarbell 8!

Unlike Volume 7, 8 is actually written and illustrated by Tarbell.

17. Because I got Volumes 1-8 on my Kindle for $8.50.

That's the total price, by the way. I don't see that deal at Amazon.com anymore, which makes me extra glad I bought it when I did. Honestly how could you refuse that deal? I bought it before I even had a kindle. (Although I did have the kindle app on my Mac and iPad.)

33. Because Tarbell was a vegetarian and had an interest in the perennial, esoteric philosophies of the ancients.

35. From the Lybrary -

The Tarbell Course is without a doubt the most recommended and most purchased magic book in history. The only recent contendor to this position is the Card College series by Roberto Giobbi.

It took me 20 years to complete my collection. So there. :)

Pete--who was the publisher that put them on Kindle?

I don't remember, and a quick check doesn't show a publisher's name. I seem to remember that shortly after posting that, I went back and could not find the same deal again. So I may just have been very lucky.

#11 Got tired of hearing Lorayne whining about how he was the author of Vol. 7 just to shut him up.

P.S. It didn't work...
