Check out the redesigned Magic Footnotes. The site has been simplified and refocused. I plan on regularly posting bits of information I have run across while looking for something else. Much will be taken from historical newspapers and publications. I will also be posting information and tips on conducting on-line research. Do check out the updated article on historical newspaper databases.
So please stop by: www.magicfootnotes.com
Please let me know if you run into any problems or have suggestions on how the site can be improved.

Re: Magic history website
Nice site. I'm going to give it a mention on the AskAlexander forum.
Also, do you mind if I create MagicPedia pages for some of your finds, with links back to your site as a reference?

Nice site, Gary. I shared your Handcuff Queen post on my Houdini Facebook page. I'll make your site part of my regular rotation.

Re: Magic history website
Gary -- your list of historical newspapers is great. The Old Fulton site, specifically is an excellent resource for anyone who hasn't checked it out before. And even if you have -- I came across some new things since the last time I was there!
Thanks,
Jim

Another list of historical newspaper databases:

Many of the big sites (Lib of Congress, Fulton, Newspaperarchive, Geneaologybank) are continuing to add content. So it's always worth going back and searching again.
