Colorful Bicycle joker ?

Postby Brad Jeffers » February 7th, 2011, 12:37 am

Has anyone seen one of these? It is a Bicycle joker with a regular back, but the king riding the bicycle is multi-colored. I came across one at a poker game and kept it (they had no use for it in the game). The cards themselves had the tiny indices , but were not the "Pro-peek" decks, as these decks don't have a standard back.

What was the back design?

There is a multi-colored Bicycle joker in the Bicycle 'Dragon Back' (poker).

It is a common Rider back. I've looked around on the internet and have not been able to find these. I spent about an hour on Ebay looking under "Bicycle cards". It's fascinating whats available these days. I could not resist buying a couple of miniature Tally-ho decks. I have no use for them, but could not help myself.

According to this thread at the Cafe, the color jokers have so far been found in Canada (locale unspecified) and in Indiana.

Where did you discover yours?

Gordon Bean's "Jinks" packet trick used colored jokers like these. I don't think that "Jinks" is still available from Gordon but you may be able to locate it somewhere....

The deck that I got this joker from was purchased here in Savannah, Ga.
I am pretty sure that they came from a Sam's Club.

I just opened a deck and it contains one of the jokers you are asking about. I bought a 4 pack of cards which consisted of 2 red back decks and 2 black back decks in a box, from Rite-aid in Chino, California.

Are the cards with the new Jokers still using the reduced sized pips or are they back to standard size now?

I guess I'm a fuddy duddy, but I think the colorful Joker looks creepy. (The Tally Ho Jokers are miles ahead :) )

Oh, I meant the main pips on the spot cards of the rest of the deck. At my Costco, they are still selling those Bikes that have the smaller spades and diamonds.

Are yours normal sized or smaller?

Oops, confused myself there, I thought you were receding to the index. These are standard pip.

I discovered these colorized Jokers in a two-deck set at Walmart in Colorado Springs about a month ago. These sets (red/blue) were sold at the checkout lane display, are cellophane sealed 2-deck flats, and are the "Standard" decks made in Cincinnati (according to the box).

I went back and bought several more decks, but these latter decks had the normal black and white Jokers. Haven't seen them since, but this Genii thread is most illuminating.

As noted elsewhere here, the colorized Jokers are perfect for a color change!

Slight correction on my part in above posting. The cards were not produced in Cincinnati, but in Kentucky. I got the boxes confused trying to locate more of the colorized Jokers.

They came from a two pack of Bicycle Standard cards (flat pack), and there is one red back and one blue back.

hi guys, just to let you know I discovered one of these jokers in my blue bicycle standard deck yesterday so I googled it and found this thread. I bought it from an online magic shop in England where I live. The joker looks amazing, I hope they start doing this as standard!

That colorful joker is also used in the "professional" bikes sold at CARC. ( http://conjuringarts.org/store/)
Time to revisit Apparition from Cardworks???

Pair a colorful Joker with a traditional monochrome Joker, and Marc DeSouza's Shapeshifter change...

Perhaps the paintbrush change would be appropriate? ;)
