How does one choose and/or get a mentor? What does/did your mentor do for/to you? How did you meet your (first) mentor?

Re: Mentors
Aside from the nice "guru" quote (which is quite true, by the way) in your case, since you live in Boston, I'd suggest you stop in to Hank Lee's and talk to the demonstrator (or Hank) about your level of accomplishment and what you are seeking. Or contact a magician in the area you know, or one you admire (look in the Yellow Pages under "Magicians"). There's a great resource in the Boston area named David Oliver who has given much of his time to helping youngsters (at the SYM, for example) and he's on this very Forum. He is, as you know, one of Genii's trick reviewers. Depending on your age, you might also check out "Magicians and Spirits" which takes place on Tuesday nights, led by the wonderful Jon Stetson, or the local IBM or SAM chapters.
