Anyone else remember when the Dancing Cane came out as a kids' toy?

Hi Dustin

I remember the tv ads for that -- I think it was called "The Trick Stick" in the UK.

Yup...
Dancing Cane (Tric Stick),
Sands Of Egypt (Magic Sand)
Svengali Deck (Maverick Cards)
and now Hummer's Whirling Card (UFO)

Magic 'toys' all demo-ed in toy stores by magicians.

I don't think magic sands deserves to be on that list as it's play value was entirely non magical - you used it to make sculptures in water.

Though you might want to add flitter fairies to your list. The lady did an amazing job of themeing, even contextualizing the method.

Though in a lake George toy store I saw the hummer card for sale, not demoed by a magician, but by a video at a stand alone kiosk.

I have a dim memory of the Hummer card being performed in a W.C. Fields film, possibly by Fields himself. Does anyone recall the film?
